Kristina Tauran—

Student Profile

I started at Crafton straight out of high school in 2012 with the impression that I wanted to pursue Nursing, but I never really felt passionate about the field. I always knew that I wanted to help people and I’d always loved science, but I felt that I didn’t know enough about other careers to commit my whole life to something that I didn’t love. I took all of my prerequisites at Crafton and somewhere along the way I fell in love with fitness through Dr. Ledoux’s total body fitness class. My last year at Crafton I got involved in student government and it was there that I grew the most as an individual. I found my voice as an advocate for others and solidified my goal of helping those in need. I decided that I would pursue Kinesiology and transferred to California State University, Fullerton.

I loved my time at CSUF, having had the chance at Crafton to refine my studying habits, I felt that I was truly prepared to tackle my classes while still working the two years that I attended. As graduation approached, I feared that I still didn’t know what it was I wanted to do with my degree and through something that felt like fate I stumbled upon Chiropractic. I fell in love with the profession immediately and decided in my last semester that once I graduated, I would pursue my Doctor of Chiropractic. In 2018 I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with my Bachelor’s in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science. I took a year off to work at a Chiropractic clinic then started my doctorate program this past Fall at Southern California University of Health Sciences. My ultimate goal is to open a non-profit clinic where I can provide care to all patients regardless of money, social class, job title, or any other things that would hinder them from receiving care elsewhere.

I don’t think that I’d be the student, woman, or future healthcare professional that I am today if my journey had been any different. Everyday I’m proud to tell people that I started at Crafton Hills College because it brought me to where I am today.
