Rising Scholars
What We Provide
Crafton Hills College is committed to supporting system impacted students both during and after incarceration. We understand that some students may wish to receive support while maintaining their privacy, while others may wish to connect with other students that have been impacted by the system. This is why we provide both foundational support as well as access to community.
Rising Scholars On-Campus students are eligible to receive:
- Laptops
- Financial Aid and Application Assistance
- Academic and Career Counseling
- Support from the Campus Food Pantry
- Tutoring from the Tutoring Center
- Resources from the Basic Needs Center
- Connection with Other Students and Campus Resources
Campus Support for Students
Admissions and Financial Aid
You must first apply to the college to create a student ID number. Once you have this, you can complete the other steps in becoming a student, such as orientation and academic counseling. The second step is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This will determine what kind of funding you may be eligible for to help pay for college.

Counseling
We want to build relationships with you as you follow your path towards your goal.
Dedicated Rising Scholars counselors are available to assist you in academic and career
planning, as well as help you find the appropriate resources needed to propel you
towards success.
Programs of Study
Part of your college journey involves the critical decision of choosing an academic
major and career path. At Crafton Hills College College, we offer more than 50 degrees
and certificates to help you reach your goals.
Instructional Support
Our instructional support and library services staff are dedicated to making sure
you receive a world-class education. The Crafton Hills College Tutoring Center offers
free tutoring in multiple subject areas..
Student Support
We consider your success at Crafton Hills College a top priority and that means giving
you the support you need to reach your goals.
- EOPS is a program that helps first generation, low-income or single parent students.
- NextUp is a program that supports the educational journey of current and former foster youth on our campus.
- CARE provides educational support services for the academically under-prepared, low income, single parent population.
- CalWORKs is a program that provides education, training, and supportive services to students on public assistance.
- DREAMERS is a program designed to assist undocumented students, DACA students, and those from
mixed status families into college.
Note: Please note that these programs have a single application, Apply today! - Student Accessibility Services (SAS) provides academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, and services to students with disabilities so they can participate fully in the college experience.
- Veterans Resource Center aids veterans and their dependents that may be eligible for various veteran educational benefits and helps transition veterans from the military to civilian life within the academic environment.
