Better Career Technical Education to Increase Social Mobility and Fuel Regional Economies with Skilled Workers
Funding from the Strong Workforce Program (SWP) is intended to develop more workforce opportunity and lift low-wage workers into living-wage jobs, California took a bold step in 2016 to create one million more middle-skill workers. At the recommendation of the California Community College Board of Governors, the Governor and Legislature approved the Strong Workforce Program, adding a new annual recurring investment of $200 million to spur career technical education (CTE) in the nation’s largest workforce development system of 114 colleges.

Capture the knowledge, experience and skills you need to teach in an early learning environment such as preschool, or pursue additional education to prepare to work in primary and intermediate grades.
Discover the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate vital medical care for incidents as varied as automobile accidents, heart attacks, drowning, childbirth, injuries and gunshot wounds.
Do you have a passion for teamwork and a commitment to public service in the control and prevention of fire, the handling of hazardous materials, investigation, rescue operations, security and safety? If so, the CHC Fire Academy is the program for you.
