Yes, CPL can count toward your degree or certificate at CHC, as long as the credit applies to your program of study and is approved through the formal evaluation process.
Transfer of CPL credit is not guaranteed. Each institution has its own policies for accepting non-traditional credit. If you plan to transfer, speak with a counselor to understand how CPL may apply to your transfer goals.
CPL will be clearly annotated on your CHC transcript to show that credit was earned through assessment of prior learning. In most cases, the method of assessment (e.g., AP, portfolio, exam) will also be noted.
It depends on the type of CPL. Some CPL (like AP or CLEP) follows standardized scoring. Others, such as portfolio review or credit by exam, may be awarded as Pass/No Pass if that option is available for the course.
There is currently no additional fee to request CPL at Crafton Hills College beyond regular enrollment fees. However, some assessments (such as AP or CLEP exams) may have external testing costs through the College Board.
Students should start by contacting the Counseling Department to explore CPL options. For questions about transcripts, forms, or documentation, contact the Admissions & Records Office.
