The cost of college textbooks is cited as one of the top reasons students drop out of college. Prices have been climbing faster than inflation for decades, and the average cost of one textbook is $125. The emergency textbook loan program provides funds for students at Crafton who are at risk for dropping out because they cannot afford their textbooks.
To be eligible for an emergency textbook loan, students must get a referral for a loan from a representative from Counseling, Financial Aid, EOPS or DSPS. As soon as the form has been signed off by the referring employee, it must be submitted to the Foundation Office (CTB-209) for approval.
