—The Best Version of Himself

I enrolled at Crafton Hills College in 2012, at eighteen years old, being unsure of myself, and what my future career and educational path would entail. Upon graduating in 2014, I had gained an unprecedented level of self-confidence, discovered my chosen career path, and created an educational plan to get there. I was not only a recipient of a Foundation scholarship, but I also had the opportunity to work on campus through the Foundation’s ISEEK program. My experiences at Crafton and the support I received from the Foundation empowered me to be the best version of myself, both academically and as a student leader – two factors I attribute to achieving acceptance into my dream school, San Diego State University.

"I realized there is no limit to what a person can achieve, except for the limitations they place on themselves." - Cameron Lyons

Since graduating from SDSU in 2017, I have been a full-time employee working at Kaiser Permanente and a full-time student in a Master of Healthcare Management program at Colorado Technical University. After this spring semester, I will be the first in my family to graduate college with both a Bachelors and Masters degree. Through my support at CHC, I realized there is no limit to what a person can achieve, except for the limitations they place on themselves. I will always be grateful to the people that I met while at CHC, and the wonderful folks at the CHC Foundation.
