On Monday, November 20, 2023, three diligent LAEP Research Assistants enthusiastically commenced their roles within the Institutional Effective, Research & Planning Department at Crafton Hills College. This pioneering initiative is under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Sosa, the Dean of Research Planning & Institutional Effectiveness.

The Learning-Aligned Employment Program (LAEP) holds its roots in the 2021-22 California State Budget and operates under the administration of the California Student Aid Commission. Its inception involves consultation with key educational entities such as the University of California (UC) President's office, the California State University (CSU) Chancellor's office, and the California Community Colleges (CCC) Chancellor's office. LAEP stands as a beacon of opportunity for eligible underrepresented college and university students. It offers not only financial support to alleviate educational costs, but also invaluable hands-on experience closely aligned with their educational pursuits and future career aspirations.

The LAEP Research Assistant program at Crafton Hills College represents a significant milestone in providing equitable opportunities for educational advancement and professional development. As this initiative takes flight, it is poised to create a ripple effect, inspiring and empowering generations of students to come.
