Crafton Hills College brought award-winning and best-selling author, Laurie Frankel to campus on April 19 as the finale to this year’s one book one college program. 

This year’s book, This is How it Always Is, has inspired discussions and activities that have broadened student and employee understanding of gender identity throughout the 2022-2023 year. 

Community, alumni, students attend employees had the opportunity to attend a Book Talk and Q&A at noon followed by a book signing. Later that afternoon, Frankel shared her insights on the writing process, the importance of research, and how she improves her novels through hundreds of revisions at a writing workshop. 

The President’s Circle private dinner event was the day’s closing activity. Donors to the College’s Foundation were given the opportunity to meet Frankel at an intimate fireside chat where she shared details about her values, background, parenting, societal expectations, and experiences as an author.
