Crafton Hills College is offering a Job Readiness Certificate targeting job skills and employability. The series of free noncredit courses provide training necessary to be competitive in the job market or to advance in a career, and are being offered as evening courses in Yucaipa and on campus.

The Job Readiness Certificate comprises four courses: 1. Essential Workplace Traits and Skills, 2. Essential Skills for New Employees, 3. Essential Customer Service, and 4. Essential Skills for Job Search Success.

All classes will be offered at Yucaipa Adult School on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and on the Crafton Hills College campus on Tuesdays/Thursdays from 4-6:15 p.m.

“Partnering with Yucaipa Adult School to offer this job readiness certificate helps meet a community need—from people looking to build their job skills to local employers searching for the best employees,” said Dr. Keith Wurtz, Vice President of Instruction. “Completing these short-term classes can really boost someone’s chances at finding a new job.”

Essential Workplace Traits and Skills covers problem solving and cognitive skills including work ethics, oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Skills for New Employees addresses workplace attire, attitude, ethics, accountability, stress management and verbal communication.

Essential Customer Service will cover customer service skills required to better serve customers/clients.

Essential Skills for Job Search Success provides prospective employees with a support system and assistance in finding jobs and interviewing skills. Job search strategies, online job resources, social networking, resumes and cover letters will be addressed.

This program can also help you earn elective and English credits toward your high school diploma. There are no enrollment fees for these classes, but there may be incidental fees.
