CHC Student Ambassadors Working to Increase Vaccination Rates

Crafton Hills College has partnered with the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) to increase COVID-19 vaccine participation among our students. Student ambassadors Jasmine Mejia, Natalie Hinton, Nayeli Frutuoso Castro, and Leslie De Luna will dedicate 16 hours each per week from now through March 31 to distribute vaccine information at booths and pop-up clinic promotions and by helping CHC students schedule vaccination appointments.

The project aims to alleviate student concerns about the vaccine. IEHP has trained the students and will provide a stipend for their participation.

“I am participating in this COVID-19 student ambassador program to educate and inform my community about COVID-19 vaccinations,” said Jasmine Mejia, a CHC student ambassador.“Many lives have been lost and my community needs to know the importance of being vaccinated. If I can get the facts out about the COVID-19 vaccine, then I will play a small part in saving lives in my community.”
