new to research or already involved in projects, this is your academic home.
Purpose
The mission of the Research Club is to foster academic curiosity, critical, thinking, and scholarly engagement among students at Crafton Hills College. The club provides opportunities for students to explore research methodologies, collaborate across disciplines, develop analytical and presentation skills, and engage in academic conferences, projects, and mentorship opportunities that support transfer, graduate, and professional goalsActivities
- The Research Club, often in collaboration with the Psychology Club, will continue to promote academic growth, service, and student engagement through a variety of programs and activities:
- Holiday Community Service: Hosting the annual Christmas party for UPS children. Members will purchase, wrap, and label gifts, as well as volunteer as Santa, elves, and helpers to run games and create a festive environment.
- Food Drive Participation: Volunteering together at community food drives in Redlands to support families in need.
- Research & Academic Growth: Leading a multifaceted, long-term research study exploring parasocial relationships, political engagement, global threat awareness, motivation, mental health, and academic performance. This project will build a sustainable dataset that benefits future students and strengthens the academic reputation of Crafton Hills College. Members also plan to hold regular meetings to share ideas and strengthen research skills.
- Fundraising & Conferences: Organizing fundraising events such as the walk on the boulevard to support club activities and conference attendance. Members will also participate in professional conferences, including those hosted by the Western Psychological Association (WPA).
- Camaraderie & Support: Fostering a welcoming environment where students can build friendships, find peer support, and develop a sense of belonging.
- Community Involvement: Extending their impact through volunteer projects and outreach
efforts that connect the club to the broader community.
- Guidance on research design, ethics, data analysis, poster and paper preparation, conference submissions,
