Additional Parking available off-campus. No Parking permit required. Ride Omnitrans for free with your Student ID.

Avoid the Fall Parking Crunch!

Crafton Hills College has adding FREE parking! The additional parking lot is located at the corner of Sand Canyon and Chapman Heights Rd. (see map). Parking in that lot will not require a CHC parking permit.

See Parking for more information.

After parking in this lot, you may ride the OmniTrans bus, which will run every 30 minutes, and will be dropped off at the bus stop by the flag pole. The bus is free for students with a valid student ID. You are encouraged to save time by using this lot instead of circling campus looking for parking if your class schedule permits. (Students are always encouraged to allot at least 20 minutes to find parking and walk to class if parking on campus.)

This parking lot has been added to address the extensive construction on campus that has resulted in closing two of the campus’ central parking lots (Lot C and Lot F). We have also switched some staff parking to student parking and added more student spots for 5 p.m. and later.

FAQ

1. Where is the additional parking lot located?

You will see the parking lot outside of the campus perimeter, just south of Chapman Heights Road on Sand Canyon Rd. If you traditionally enter the West Entrance of campus, pass on by until you get to the lot on your left-hand side. If you enter campus from Yucaipa Blvd., you will see the lot on your right-hand side before the main campus entrance.

2. How do I get from the parking lot to my classroom and back?

There will be an OmniTrans bus stop located at the parking lot. The bus will come by every 30 minutes and deliver you to the bus stop by the flag pole at the front of campus. You will then have to walk to your classroom (Sorry, no stops in between). The bus ride is FREE with a Valid Student ID. The bus will pick up at the same bus stop and deliver you to a bus stop just across the street from the parking lot. Please plan ample time to catch the bus and walk to and from class. Also note that the last bus leaving campus is at 9:35 p.m.

3. Do I need a parking permit for this off-campus lot?

No parking permit is required for this lot.

4. How much does a parking permit cost and where do I get one?

Parking permits are $30 per semester and $15 for summer semester. Permits can be purchased online at craftonhills.edu/parking.

5. Will the parking lot have lighting?

No, the parking lot will not have appropriate lighting for night-time parking. You should park in this lot for daytime classes, preferably.

6. Will there be security?

Campus police will patrol this lot just as they patrol campus parking lots.

7. Are there other options?

Lot J at the Aquatics Center now has a walkway that will take you to the main campus, and Lot M (gravel lot) has a trail up to the West end of campus. There is also a gravel lot next to the LRC which will have parking spots available to students after 5 p.m.

The off-campus lot has over 400 parking spots available, making it the best place to start your search for parking.

8. How long will the central parking lots be closed?

We anticipate construction to impact campus through Summer 2015.

We ask for your patience and cooperation as we transform Crafton Hills College with new facilities that will serve students for years to come.
