EOPS Brings Resources, Community and Connection to the Quad

On Tuesday, September 15th the Crafton Hills College Quad came alive with eager students as CHC’s EOPS Department brought light to CHC’s strong community and support system at the Fall 2026 EOPS Open House event.

Organized to connect with as many students as possible, the open house had a turnout of nearly 400 students who gathered throughout the afternoon, welcomed by music, complementary lunch, and tables packed with EOPS swag. The event offered a welcoming space for Roadrunners to connect directly with program staff and discover the network of resources and services available on campus to help each student succeed.

The full spectrum of EOPS support programs include CARE, CalWORKs, NextUp, and DREAMer Scholars. These programs support low-income, first generation, foster youth, and/or single parents with financial assistance, counseling support, academic supplies, priority registration, and more.

CHC’s supportive staff members provided encouragement to attending students by answering questions, guiding students through the application process, and breaking down how these programs help students successfully navigate their educational journeys. 

By the end of the day, attendees walked away having discovered that EOPS offers a wide variety of academic and personal resources rather than just a single service. By providing financial, academic, and community support, the EOPS department highlighted that no Crafton Hills student needs to walk their college path alone.
