P.E.O. Reciprocity Gathering at Crafton Hills College
Publish Date: Oct. 11, 2025

On October 11, more than 60 members of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) gathered at Crafton Hills College for the annual Reciprocity event, hosted in the Fire Academy Bay. Guests enjoyed coffee, tea, and fellowship before a business meeting and presentation from College and Fire Academy representatives.
Danny Ward, Operational Specialist for the Fire Academy, shared insights about the rigorous one-semester program, which trains 36 cadets each term. Cadets begin physical training at 5:30 a.m., often continuing into the evening, and invest over $3,000 in equipment and certifications. Graduates are qualified for Firefighter I and II roles, with many advancing to paramedic careers.
Attendees toured the enine bay, drill yard, and training center, viewed the donated engines and props, and learned about the College’s partnerships with local fire agencies. The morning concluded with a sack lunch prepared by P.E.O. members, wrapping up a day of connection, learning, and appreciation for Crafton’s impact on future first responders.
