On September 9, 2025, the quad at Crafton Hills College came alive with music, food, and excitement during the Fall Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) Open House. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., students gathered to enjoy complimentary lunch and to learn how EOPS can support them in their educational journey.

The event introduced students to everything EOPS has to offer while giving them a chance to connect with staff and peers in a welcoming, energetic atmosphere. Attendees had the opportunity to chat one-on-one with EOPS representatives, get answers to their questions, and learn about CARE, CalWORKS, NextUP and DREAMers Scholars, related programs that provide resources to students. With a food truck serving up chicken and shrimp bowls, freshly made churros, and a lively DJ, students had plenty of reasons to stop by and learn more.

EOPS resources support first generation, low-income, foster youth and/or single parents with academic counseling support, financial assistance, priority registration, and academic supplies. EOPS helps ensure that students have the support they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

The event demonstrated the strong sense of community that comes with applying to the program. Students who stopped by could see firsthand how EOPS goes beyond academics to create an environment where they feel supported, encouraged, and connected. The EOPS team is committed to making sure every eligible student knows what resources are available to them and how to access them.

If you missed this event, you can still learn more and get involved. To explore the full list of resources and find out if you qualify, visit Crafton Hills EOPS.
