Crafton Hills College Celebrates National Student Parent Appreciation Month
Publish Date: Sept. 23, 2025

On September 23, the Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS) Department at Crafton Hills College hosted Little Hands, Big Creations, a family-friendly arts and crafts event open to the entire campus. In recognition of September as National Student Parent Appreciation Month, the EOPS Department invited families to enjoy a free meal, listen to fun music, and get creative together.
Attendees received Crafton-branded canvas tote bags to paint and decorate with their own unique designs. Children eagerly showed off their colorful creations, with some proudly sharing that they planned to use their bags to trick-or-treat on Halloween . One grandmother joined her student daughter and grandson, explaining that she is a Crafton alum and so she was excited to come back to campus for the event.
“This celebration will now be held annually,” said Amity Lodevico, EOPS Student Services Coordinator. “EOPS is excited to share that this is one of many events geared toward celebrating student parents, as we have additional events planned for the upcoming spring semester.”
EOPS provides additional resources to qualifying students, helping them achieve their academic goals while balancing family responsibilities.
