Family and friends gathered on Friday, May 1 to celebrate with the EOPS/CalWORKs/CARE students who have completed 48 units with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. Many of them are transferring in the fall to 4-year institutions. Andrea Clark, a former EOPS student who graduated from CHC in 2006 with a Respiratory Therapy degree, spoke on her transformation from college student and single mother to a college graduate and full-time respiratory therapist at Loma Linda University.

As part of the celebration this year, EOPS recognized a faculty member for the Nickel & Nail Award. Kathleen Gibson was honored for her tireless work as a math instructor and tutor.
