The Annual Crafton Hills New Works Festival is back for its fourth year and seeks submission in both 10-minute and One-Act categories. This year’s theme will be “Transitions and Transformations”, and playwrights are encouraged to write with stories about growth, changes and points of decisions along life’s paths or other associated topics.

There will be first, second and third finishes with playwrights for those works being awarded a one year membership to Play Submission Helper (playsubmissionhelper.com ) Entry fee is $10 per work submitted; there is no limit on the number of works that can be submitted. 10-minute play scripts should be 6-10 pages in length; one act length should be 16-20 pages with the length not to exceed 22 pages. Electronic submissions should be in PDF format.

Submission deadline is Sunday, March 19, 2023, with notifications occurring by Sunday, April 23, 2023. Entries postmarked by March 12 will be considered. You do not have to be a student of Crafton Hills College to submit a play.

Performances will be during the Fall 2023 term. Interested playwrights may choose to participate in a talk back session on one of the evenings when their play is performed. Crafton Hills College is solely responsible for the casting and production of all accepted works.
