External Scholarships

The opportunities listed below are external to the Crafton Hills College Scholarship process. These have been reviewed as potentially valid opportunities, but are not guaranteed.

As an applicant, you should always be aware of potential scams which may request fees for applications, social security number, requests for bank account or other personal/unusual information, notification of being selected for an award you did not apply for, or receiving a "scholarship check" when you did not apply.

  • The DRS Scholarship will award $1,000 to the winner. This will be distributed per your school’s financial aid policies.
  • The DRS Scholarship is an essay submission format. Individuals submit an essay in adherence to the guidelines below. The DRS Team will review these essays, and the scholarship will be awarded to the best essay that meets all submission guidelines. This scholarship will be awarded annually with a different essay topic each year.
  • To be eligible for our scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:
    • Be a full-time college or university student (individuals taking 12 credits – about four classes each semester).
    • Be at least 18 years old.

The ABWA general scholarship application will be open from April - September 2024. There are also other opportunities available that may be helpful for students.  

SCAG’s annual Scholarship Program supports students working toward long-term career goals in planning or public service. The program provides a $4,000 scholarship award for seven high school or community college students from the SCAG region. Two additional scholarship awards not tied to a specific county may also be awarded at the Regional Council’s discretion. Recipients may also have an opportunity to meet with their local government representatives and practicing planners to discuss the importance of urban planning and a future career in public service. 

The Inland Empire Community Foundation’s founder, Charles E. Brouse, believed that the best way to give back to the community was through scholarships for hard-working students who wanted to attend college. Because of the endowment he established years ago students from the region are still receiving support for their education. Today, scholarships remain a large focus of our grants, averaging one million dollars a year to every public college and university in the two-county region, as well as colleges and universities across the nation. These awards recognize student achievements and offer hope for those seeking to better themselves through education. Depending on the donor’s vision, IECF awards a wide variety of scholarships, including general and field-specific scholarships for areas of study like civil engineering, nursing, special education, veterinary sciences, and more.

Three scholarships will be awarded to women who reside in our community. All applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student and in good standing to receive a scholarship award. Application requirements and deadlines available online.

  • Amelia Earhart Fellowship: The Amelia Earhart Fellowship is awarded annually to women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences.
  • Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship: The JMK Women in Business Scholarship helps women pursue undergraduate and master's degrees in business management and overcome gender barriers from the classroom to the boardroom.
  • Young Women in Public Affairs Award: The Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) Awards program recognizes young women for their demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is pleased to be the administrator of scholarship opportunities provided by our partners. These scholarships can help students cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and other expenses (varies by scholarship). Application requirements and deadlines available online.  

IEHP has an impactful opportunity! They are starting their next cohort of Community Health Worker 3-month program. They are seeking applications who are passionate to assist the community. The three (3) month intensive paid program’s starting wage is $18. It is Monday- Friday, with a hybrid schedule. Mon. and Friday is remote and Tues./Weds./Thurs. is in the office. Students would be able to take courses in the evening.  Applications are being accepted now.   

If the individual has a successful completion of the three (3) month program, they are eligible to apply for the IEHP year (1) residency, with a starting wage of $25. Upon completion of the residency, they will be CHW certified. IEHP will start screening applications next week. Those who are selected with be given a phone interview, the second part would be an invite only face to face interview at selected locations in Victorville ( March 19th) , San Bernardino, and Riverside. All hiring will be within March with a start date in April 2024.
