5-8-20 SBCCD Update on Summer and Fall 2020
Dear students, faculty, and staff:
The COVID-19 crisis has changed our daily lives, but it hasn’t changed our commitment to helping you succeed. As we wind down this academic year, we want to give you an update about this summer term and fall semester so you can start planning.
Stay enrolled and continue your education online and remotely
We have moved most of our in-person classes online so your education won’t miss a beat. We will continue with online and remote education during the 2020 summer term and fall semester. Some labs may be held in-person, so stay tuned for future guidance.
We realize that learning online isn’t the same, but your health and safety are our highest priorities. Public health officials continue to tell us that physical distancing is the best way to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
We are committed to making it as easy as possible for you to stay enrolled, and every day we are adding more online resources to help you reach your goals.
Financial aid is still available
While you’re home studying online, you can plan ahead by completing the FAFSA or California Dream Act now; it’s the form that opens the door to most types of financial aid.
Most faculty and staff will continue working remotely
We are thankful to our faculty and staff for advancing the mission of our colleges during this pandemic. Essential employees will continue working as they currently are, and most faculty and staff will keep working remotely through fall 2020 or until further notice.
We look forward to seeing you in person when the time is right. Until then, please continue taking care of yourself, be kind to others, and stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Jose F. Torres, Interim Chancellor, San Bernardino Community College District
Dr. Kevin Horan, President, Crafton Hills College
Diana Z. Rodriguez, President, San Bernardino Valley College
