Good Morning Roadrunners,

Just a few updates as we catch up from weekend develop.m.ents in regards to the State’s evolving response to COVID-19:

Essential Personnel for Crafton Hills College

All student, classified, faculty and managers are to remain working remotely, unless, you have been requested and approved by your immediate supervisor to physically come to campus.  We are taking the Governor’s stay home direction seriously.  Do not come to campus unless you have been requested and approved by your immediate supervisor.  There may be situations where it is necessary to come to campus, however, you must first seek your immediate supervisor’s approval.

Hours of Operation beginning Monday, March 30th

We will be closing most buildings on campus effective this week.  The following buildings will be open Mondays & Tuesdays only for student use beginning next week:

Monday & Tuesday Only (Closed Weds – Fri)

Crafton Center

9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Bookstore

9:00am – 3:00p.m.

Food Pantry

10:00am – 12:00p.m. (located temporarily in Student Life)

Learning Resource Center (Library)

10:00am – 7:00p.m.

The PSAH Building will also be open to accommodate required in-person instruction for the Fire Academy, EMS/Paramedic and Respiratory Care only.

Technology

We have been busy distributing spare laptops to personnel that are required to work remotely and provide essential student services and/or college business operations, which are required to use the secured VPN to access college information systems.  We are also in the process of exploring acquiring additional laptops, webcams, etc for faculty and staff to use to work remotely for an extended period of time, should the need continue.  If you have a technology support need, we ask that you continue to submit these through the work order process. Melissa Oshman, Director of Information Technology Services, will be sending out an email with directions on how to submit these work orders.

There is a lot of training taking place this week to help staff, faculty and managers adapt to teaching and working remotely.  More information on these training resources can be found on our webpage at www.craftonhills.edu

That is all for today’s update.  A tremendous thank you to everyone going above and beyond to prepare for our college to go entirely online/remote beginning next week.  As a reminder, all students return from the extended Spring Break beginning Monday, March 30th.

Sincerely,

Kevin
