New Students Placement Process

New Students or Students Returning After at Least One Semester Absence

After you have completed the CCCApply application process and the CHC Online Orientation through your CHC Self-Service account, you can go through the Placement Process. Students can choose to enroll in transfer level English and/or math. In addition, placement recommendations are made based on self-reported high school coursework, course grades, and/or GPA. Currently, 96% of prospective students place into transfer level English and 82% place into transfer level math.

Log in to your Self-Service account and click on CHC Placement Process. Be as accurate as possible for the most accurate placement. Once the CHC Placement Process is completed, the process cannot be resubmitted.  Please see a counselor if you feel there are any discrepancies in your placements.

Once the CHC Placement Process has been completed, check your student email account for your placement printout.  Next, call or stop by the Counseling Center for either a walk-in or an appointment to have a Student Education Plan developed and signed off by a counselor.
