Dear Roadrunners,
March was a strong month for
our campus, with many opportunities for
our community to connect and engage.
These moments continue to reinforce our
commitment to creating a welcoming and
inclusive environment at CHC.
We also recognize that
external events can impact members of our
community in different ways. Recent news
regarding allegations brought forward by
Dolores Huerta involving Cesar Chavez,
has prompted significant reflection and
concern across our community. We
acknowledge the weight of these
conversations and want to be clear that,
as a campus community, we stand in
support of survivors of sexual assault
and abuse. As we move into April, we
observe Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Additionally, we celebrate
Gaypril, with programs designed to
support, educate, and uplift our
community. We kicked off Gaypril on April
1 with an Online Film Screening of A
Nice Indian Boy(4:30 6:30 p.m. on
Zoom), followed by Global Grooves: Silent
Disco on April 2 from 12:00 1:00 p.m. at
the MCC. These early events set the tone
for a month of connection, celebration,
and learning, including highlights like
Drag Queen Bingo on April 7 and
additional workshops and community
gatherings throughout the month.
I am incredibly proud of the
work happening across this campus every
single day to meet the unique needs of
each individual who walks through our
doors. Thank you for your continued
dedication to our students and to one
another.
Best regards,
|
