A passionate community college educator, a creative entrepreneur and an innovative leader, Dr. Wei Zhou is the 8th President of Crafton Hills College, serving 18 cities and areas in Southern California. He received his Ph.D. from the nation’s oldest and best doctoral program of its kind at the University of Texas at Austin. Learned from Dr. John Roueche, Dr. Zhou is dedicated to student learning and success, equity and diversity, and staff and organizational development. Prior to joining Crafton Hills College, Dr. Zhou served as Vice President of Instruction and Interim President at Cuyamaca College, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Copper Mountain College, Dean of Math, Science and Engineering at Evergreen Valley College, as well as a variety of teaching, research and administrative assignments at several two-year and four-year institutions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Zhou has led colleges to be among the nation’s fastest growing community colleges with top ranked graduation rates, and received multiple national recognitions and multi-million dollar state and federal grant funding. He has also fostered collaborative relationships with local business and industry, K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, government and community organizations, and legislators. In addition, his contributions were recognized by invitations to serve on panels and boards for a number of state, national and international organizations, and through numerous national and international publications, conference presentations, and awards.

Working with talented and innovative faculty and staff at Crafton Hills College, Dr. Zhou is committed to the shared vision for student, employee, and institutional success, and achieving a high standard of excellence in a learning-centered environment to expand the comprehensive nature of the college and provide clear pathways to lead students to achieve their educational goals.
