The S.L.A.M. Poetry Club consists of students who are interested in writing and listening to spoken word poetry.  Spoken word poetry, as it is manifested today, has been developing a large following since the early 1990’s.  The genre of spoken word poetry is a very general category of poetry whose emphasis is on two things: a powerful performance and a powerful message.  The club is not only open to students who write spoken word poetry, but also to any student who simply wants to listen and learn more about it.  The club meets on Friday afternoons from 1:30 – 2:30 in the top floor of the library (room LR-347.)  For more information on the S.L.A.M. Poetry Club, call Robert at (909) 389-3566 or email rdbrown@craftonhills.edu.
