Databases are searchable, online collections of newspapers, journals and other periodicals, as well as other valuable resources such as e-books, art images and bibliographies.

Primary Databases

Academic Search Premier   This EBSCOhost database provides access to 1,000s of journals in all subject areas--English, History, Math, Science, Art, Philosophy, Psychology and much more. This is a great place to start for research papers, projects, essays, etc. UPDATE: With the purchase of the H.W. Wilson company, EBSCO now offers full-text articles from more than 2,200 journals and 500 podcasts and videocasts, covering subject areas including the Humanities, Education, General Sciences, Technology, Business and more.

This database also includes over 100,000 art images from museums around the world, as well as artist biographies. Search by artist name, genre, medium and more and retrieve gorgeous, high resolution image results.

Wilson OmniFile Full Text Mega   UPDATE: All of our Wilson database products are now included in EBSCO's Academic Search Premier (see above).

Credo Reference   Credo Reference is an easy to use tool for research projects and homework. A giant online collection that searches hundreds of encyclopedias, dictionaries, thesauri, quotations and subject specific titles as well as 200,000+ images and audio files and nearly 100 videos.

CountryWatch    A great, comprehensive database of information on countries around the world. Find up-to-date maps (including physical, political, manufacturing, environmental and other data), flags, current economic, political, social, gender, investment, intelligence and other extensive country information.

Newspaper Source Plus provides cover-to-cover access to more than 40 national and international newspapers, including The Washington Post, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, The Times (London) and The Evening Standard, as well as TV and radio news show transcripts from CNN, MSNBC, NPR, FOX and more.

SIRS Knowledge Source provides up-to-date, relevant, credible information on topics such as the humanities, social issues, science, history, government, the arts and more.
