On Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., the City of Yucaipa will be conducting a Public Outreach Meetings in the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center at Crafton Hills College, to provide information to students, faculty and administrators regarding the following topic:
The meeting will focus on the creation of a Crafton Hills College Village Plan. The City of Yucaipa has successfully applied for and received grant funding to create a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan specific to the Crafton Hills College campus and portions of the Dunlap Corridor under the Local Assistance Planning Program from the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). The proposed TOD plan will include transportation planning, a sustainable land use mix including new housing and commercial opportunities to create a “College Village” near the foothills of Crafton Hills College leading to portions of the Dunlap Corridor. The City’s General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) has recommended that the City Council consider the creation of a College Village plan and the purpose of this meeting is to provide information, answer questions, and solicit public input on this topic. Subsequent to this meeting, GPAC’s recommendation will be forwarded to City Council for consideration at a future study session.
Everyone is encouraged to attend this meeting to learn about the above topics that will affect the long range planning of the area surrounding the Crafton Hills College. Please contact the City of Yucaipa’s Development Services Department if you have any questions regarding these meetings at 909-797-2489, ext. 224 or 231.
