The Crafton Hills College Fire Academy cadets will for the second time participate in the Loma Linda Fire Academy Memorial Ceremony. The event will take place on September 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Loma Linda Fire Station 1, 11325 Loma Linda Dr., Loma Linda, Calif 92354.
This year, in honor of those lost, the Loma Linda Fire Department will conduct a 9/11 memorial ceremony featuring the unveiling of a permanent 9/11 Memorial Monument which contains a steel artifact recovered from the devastation at Ground Zero. In addition, participation of Fire and Law enforcement honor guards, pipes & drums, representatives from military service branches as well as comments from recognized speakers will make this a memorable event. There is no cost to attend, and the public and media are welcome.
According to Dr. Cheryl Marshall, Crafton Hills College Interim President, “Crafton Hills College is honored to have our students, cadets in one of the finest Fire Academies in the state, participate in such a significant event. The tragedy of 9-11 changed the world as we know it, and we must continue to remember and acknowledge those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
