September 23, 2011CHC Awarded $4.3 million over 5 years in STEM Grant
The US Department of Education has awarded CHC a five-year STEM grant of $870,000 per year and SBVC a five-year cooperative grant with CSUSB of more than $950,000 per year under the same program. The STEM grants, awarded through the Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) program, are designed to develop and carry out activities to improve and expand the institution’s capacity to serve Hispanic students and through grant implementation, benefit all students in many ways, including increased student enrollment, graduation and transfer rates. HSIs are defined non-profit institutions with at least 25 percent Hispanic full-time equivalent enrollment. STEM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics studies.

September 13, 2011Art Exhibit Thru Oct. 13
The CHC Art Gallery will host its first event of the 2011-2012 academic year, Creep, featuring a group of up and coming artists representing a range of techniques. Creep will be in the Gallery from Sept. 16 to Oct. 13. The Gallery hours are M-T, 11 am to 3 pm. The Artists’ Reception is Friday, Sept. 16, 6- 8 pm.
September 13, 2011Constitution Day September 16
In celebration of Constitution and Citizenship Day, the Student Senate will be presenting a plaque in honor of CHC vets who have served our country. The event will be Friday 9/16, noon to 1pm, in front of the Student Life Office by the Cafeteria. The Senate will serve cake and give out school supplies after the ceremony. Hope to see everyone there!

September 08, 2011National Day of Service and Remembrance
The National Day of Service and Remembrance (Patriot Day) is held on 9/11 annually to honor and pay respect to the innocent victims who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the heroes who risked their lives to save them, as well as their families and loved ones, through remembrance and service activities. Since 9/11 falls on a Sunday this year, Chancellor Bruce Baron is inviting those who choose to voluntarily participate to gather for a moment of silence at the flagpoles of their respect sites on Friday, 9/ 9, at 8:46 a.m.
September 07, 201140th Birthday Party
Crafton Hills College (CHC) is kicking off the celebration of its 40th year with a Birthday Party – complete with cupcakes, on Monday, September 12 at noon in the quad of the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center. The event and parking are free. The public is invited to help the campus start a year-long celebration. Please park in lots A-1 or D for the easiest access because the campus is under construction.
