The second event of the year-long celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Crafton Hills College is Oct. 14 (Friday) at 6 p.m. on the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center Patio where the College will host a free large-screen, outdoor showing of The Wizard of Oz. The event starts at 6 p.m., and the movie at dusk. Popcorn, cotton candy and water will be available and there will be green glow stick bracelets for the children. Parking for the event is free and attendees are encouraged to use lots A-1, F and C. Please look for event parking signs. There is construction in the middle of campus and Lot E is closed.
Former Chancellor Bundy referred to Crafton Hills College as the Emerald on the Hill, which has become the theme for the Anniversary year. The showing of The Wizard of Oz will not be the only event tailored to that theme. The movie event is co-sponsored by the Crafton Hills College Foundation and the City of Yucaipa. The film will be shown on the large screen owned and operated by the City of Yucaipa for a series of family-oriented films this summer. Families are encouraged to attend, and there is picnic space available. Please bring your own chairs for the outdoor screening. Students from the Associated Students of Crafton Hills College will be there to help out with the popcorn and cotton candy machines!
