Dance Performance

Duo: featuring Lucas Manning (Yucaipa), Dominique Defraine (Redlands)

The Crafton Hill College Dance Department, instructed by Stephanie Gomez, is producing an excitement-packed, two-night extravaganza on Friday, December 3 and Saturday, December 4. Both shows begin at 8:00 p.m. in the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center on campus, and admission is $5 for students and seniors and $10 general admission. The public is invited and parking for the evening shows is free.

Congratulations Fire Academy Graduates

The Crafton Hills College 73rd Basic Firefighter Training Academy Graduation Ceremony took place at the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center on Thursday, November 18. The 17 cadets were honored by Fire Academy Chief Dan Sullivan and guest speaker Chief Steve Earley of the Riverside City Fire Department. Certificates were presented by San Bernardino Community College District Trustee-elect Donna Ferracone, Vice President Cheryl Marshall, Interim Vice President Mike Strong, and Dean June Yamamoto.

First Cultures

Tribal Chairman James Ramos at the 2009 Native American Days

The inaugural California’s First Cultures: A Celebration at Crafton Hills/Waa’t stage performance was held in the Performing Arts Center Friday, November 19. The event was held in recognition of Native American Heritage Month and in observance of the Native American Heritage Day on November 26.

New Crafton Hills College Art Gallery Hosts Debut Exhibit Featuring 20+ Artists

The new Library and Learning Resource Center was just dedicated on October 15, and the Art Gallery will host its first event, SoundMigrationZ, a traveling exhibition featuring 21 artists with diverse backgrounds, including Ulysses Jenkins, the renowned pioneer of African American video art and Europe-based graffiti artist Hope Box, (aka Lortek). The exhibit will open with the Artists’ Reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on November 17.

San Manuel Donates $200,000 to CHC Foundation

The contribution will establish the Santos Manuel Student Success Partnership, a new campus program aimed at strengthening student support services to help more than 700 disadvantaged students.
