History & Mission of EOP&S

The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOP&S) was established as a result of Assembly Bill 164 passed by the California Legislature in 1969. The statewide program was created to increase the enrollment of under-represented students on community college campuses affected by educational, economical and cultural disadvantages.

Since its inception more that 20 years ago in the fall of 1974, the EOP&S program at Crafton Hills College has played an integral role assisting the college in its efforts to provide students equal access. The EOP&S program continues to honor its traditional long term commitment towards the accomplishment of EOP& goals and objectives; i.e., to extend an opportunity to eligible students and provide them with the necessary support and assistance to development or redirect their abilities to the fullest so they may be able to undertake and conquer the challenges of a higher education.
