Workshops Descriptions

Choosing a Major & Ed Plan Prep: This workshop will help you learn important steps to choosing a major that is best suited for you.  It will also provide basic information on how to complete an Ed Plan.

 

How to Talk to Employers: This workshop will teach you key skills and techniques of how to communicate your skills, interest, and hirable qualities to an employer.  Utilize these skills for a job fair, interview, or networking.

 

Internships that Work for U: This workshop will help you learn the importance of internships and how to secure an internship to help you build your skills for a particular industry area. 

 

Interviewing Skills: This workshop will help you learn how to prepare for an interview.  You will learn specific techniques for how to start, speak through, and end an interview properly.

 

I’ve Chosen My major, Now What?  Career Planning: This workshop will help you learn steps to take to develop a career plan based on your major selection.  Your career plan may include a timeline, education, internship, and other opportunities to ensure that you are creating a path that will lead to career success.

 

Job Search Strategies & Social Media: This workshop will help you to learn how to search for a job in many facets.  It will also help you to learn how to have a professional presence in social media and to also use it as a tool for job search.

 

Resume Writing: This workshop will help you learn the Do’s and Don’ts of resume writing.  Learn techniques to help your skills and qualifications stand out and look professional.

 

Strengths & Skills for Landing the Job: This workshop will help you to learn how your strengths and skills can help you to land your job of interest.  We will focus on how you can develop strengths, skills and qualifications that are important to most employers and then how to communicate this in an interview.
