An incomplete or "I" symbol will be awarded to the student who, in the judgment of the instructor, is unable to complete a course due to a verified
unforeseeable emergency. The Condition for the removal of the "I" shall be stated by the instructor in a written record (Incomplete Form). This record shall contain not only the conditions for the removal of the "I" but also the grade assigned in lieu of its removal. This record must be given to the student (with a copy on file in the Admissions & Records Office) until the "I" is made up or the time limit has passed. A final grade shall be assigned when the work stipulated has been completed and evaluated, or when the time limit for competency the work has passed.
The time limit for the "I" to be made up is no later than one (1) year following the end of the term in which it was assigned. The "I" symbol shall not be used in calculating units attempted nor for grade points. The Incomplete Form may be obtained from the Admissions and Records Office in SSA-213. (Title 5 sec. 55023(e))
