Crafton Hills College Construction Update 8/8/11:

We will make every effort to assure the accuracy and completeness of these updates; however, there will be some changes and adjustments as construction progresses.

HOW WILL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AFFECT YOU?

  • Construction personnel and equipment will be on campus drive periodically throughout construction. Please proceed with caution.
  • With construction activity on-going safety is always a major priority for both staff and students. With this in mind we wanted to again ensure that both staff and students remain outside of the construction activity areas that have been established. These areas are clearly donated with temporary fencing. If access is needed within any construction areas proper notification, escort and safety measures (hard hats, vests, etc.) are required.
  • Portion of East-End of Campus Drive (from just north of parking lot H to parking lot I) is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic until 8/15/11. Use parking lot D as the vehicular turn around point for the west-end of Campus Drive. Use Aquatic Center parking lot as the vehicular turn around point for the east-end of Campus Drive. Parking lot H is open and available for use, but the access is from the west-end of Campus Drive.
  • Parking lots open: CDC, A1, A, B, C, D, H, and the Aquatic Center.
  • Parking lots closed: E, F, G, I, and overflow (all lots except the day use lot and Lot E will be open on Monday, 8/15/11).
  • To access the west-end of campus, park in CDC, A1, A, B, or C parking lots. To access the east-end of campus, park in H or the Aquatic Center parking lots.
  • For vehicular access behind the OE complex and Bookstore there is temporary access through parking lot I to the OE access road.
  • There is a new temporary pathway/walkway for pedestrian access to and from the west-end and east-end of campus along the south side of Campus Drive during the construction work within the central-half of Campus Drive. All other pedestrian access across campus will remain in its current condition. See attachment for graphic depiction of temporary pathway/walkway.
  • Access to the tennis courts is from the south gates.
  • Access to soccer field is routed via the walkway south and west of the tennis courts. This route will continue for the duration of the MSA project.
  • Temporary fencing around old library demolition project site is in-place. West-half of the main quad and pathway’s/walkway’s directly north and south of the old library will be closed.
  • Hazardous material demolition and removal will be taking place over the course of the next month as part of the old library demolition project.
