Road Closure: Fifth Avenue and Walnut Street in Mentone - May 2012 through November 2012

We will make every effort to assure the accuracy and completeness of these updates; however, there will be some changes and adjustments as construction progresses.

How will Construction Activity Affect You?

  • Construction personnel and equipment will be on campus drive periodically throughout construction. Please proceed with caution.
  • With construction activity on-going safety is always a major priority for both staff and students. With this in mind we wanted to again ensure that both staff and students remain outside of the construction activity areas that have been established. These areas are clearly designated with temporary fencing. If access is needed within any construction areas proper notification, escort and safety measures (hard hats, vests, etc.) are required.
  • Campus Drive open.
  • Parking lots open: CDC, A1, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, gym lot, H, I, Aquatic Center, and overflow.
  • Parking stalls in the northern section of the Aquatic Center parking lot will be closed for the duration of the LEED Solar Heating Panels project.
  • Trenching in the Aquatic Center parking lot and adjacent to the Aquatic Center building will be on-going. Please proceed with caution in these areas.
  • Work in and around equipment pad adjacent to gym parking lot handicap parking stalls will continue into next week. Please proceed with caution in this area.
  • Geotechnical borings will be taken in the four locations of the new buildings currently under design (New Science Bldg, OE2 Bldg, Crafton Center, & PE/Athletic Bldg). Noise will be generated from this operation, but won’t be anything substantially different than standard construction operations. Equipment will be safely marked, but please proceed with caution around the equipment.
