NOTICE: CENTRAL-HALF OF CAMPUS DRIVE, PARKING LOT D & PARKING LOT E CLOSURE BEGINNING TOMORROW, JULY 7:

Beginning tomorrow morning, July 7, the central-half of Campus Drive (from parking lot D to parking lot H) will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Construction crews are setting up temporary fencing in preparation for these closures; please proceed with caution during this transition.

This closure will bring about the following changes:

Roadway, Parking Lot and Pedestrian Access Map

PARKING LOTS OPEN:

  • Parking lots CDC, A1, A, B, C, H, and the Aquatic Center will remain open.
  • To access to the west-end of campus, park in CDC, A1, A, B, or C.
  • To access to the east-end of campus, park in H or the Aquatic Center parking lot.
  • For vehicular access behind the OE complex and Bookstore there is temporary access through parking lot I to the OE access road.

PARKING LOTS CLOSED:

  • Parking lots D, E, F, G, I, and overflow will be closed

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS:

  • There is a new temporary pathway/walkway for Pedestrian access to and from the west-end and east-end of campus along the north side of Campus Drive during the construction work within the central-half of Campus Drive.
  • All other pedestrian access across campus will remain in its current condition.

CENTRAL-HALF OF CAMPUS DRIVE CLOSED:

  • Campus Drive from parking lot D to parking lot H will be closed to vehicular traffic.
  • Use parking lot C as the vehicular turn around point for the west-end of Campus Drive.
  • Use parking lot H as the vehicular turn around point for the east-end of Campus Drive.

We will all share in a safer and more accessible Crafton Hills College campus once the Parking Lot / ADA / Lighting Improvement construction is completed.

Crafton Hills College Construction Update 6/6/11:

We will make every effort to assure the accuracy and completeness of these updates; however, there will be some changes and adjustments as construction progresses.

HOW WILL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY AFFECT YOU?

  • Construction personnel and equipment will be on campus drive periodically throughout construction. Please proceed with caution. 
  • Beginning Tuesday, May 31st through June 24th,the following parking lots will be closed to staff, students, and the public: overflow parking lot, parking lot B, parking lot C, parking lot F, parking lot G, parking lot H, and parking lot I. For those needing access to the west side of campus CDC parking lot, parking lot A1, and parking lot A will be open and available for use. For those needing access to the east side of campus parking lot E and Aquatic Center parking lot will be open and available for use. For the start of summer school, June 27th, majority of these lots will be opened up and available for use, but the following lots will remain closed: parking lot F, parking lot G, and parking lot I. 
  • Beginning Tuesday, May 31st through June 24th,the west entrance and west half, up to parking lot D, of Campus Drive will be closed. The only access to the CHC campus will be via the east entrance of Campus Drive. Temporary access to the Child Development Center (CDC), CDC parking lot, parking lot A1, parking lot A, and the M&O yard will be via the fire access road behind the PAC from the east entrance. The two double gates will remain open at all times. Also, parking lot D will be used as the turnaround for those that come into the middle of campus. For the start of summer school, June 27th, the west entrance and west half of Campus Drive will be opened up and available for use. 
  • Beginning Tuesday, May 31st the pedestrian pathway/walkway from the Science Complex to the OE Complex and Gym will be closed. This walkway will remain closed for a portion of summer school; however a temporary walkway will be established to provide access to/from the OE complex. 
  • Pedestrian access to the OE complex and Bookstore will be via temporary pathway/walkway beginning at the entrance of parking lot I, which will lead you to the front entrance to the OE2 building and the pathway/walkway directly east of the Bookstore. For those needing vehicular access behind the OE complex and Bookstore you will be accommodated via temporary access through parking lot I to the OE access road. 
  • Tree demolition will be taking place throughout the campus (majority of work will be in and around parking lots). While this operation is taking place a few parking stalls will be closed down from time to time. Full safety measures will be exercised for this operation. Please proceed with caution. 
  • Access to the tennis courts is from the south gates. 
  • Access to soccer field is routed via the walkway south and west of the tennis courts. This route will continue for the duration of the MSA project. 
  • Parking spaces/stalls on campus drive adjacent to the MSA project site are closed to staff and students. 
  • Modular buildings segments for the Math and Science Annex have begun to be delivered to the CHC campus. They will be temporarily located in the overflow parking lot, which is currently closed to staff and students. The remainder of the modular buildings segments will be delivered over the course of the next several weeks with all segments being on-site by the beginning of June. Beginning the week of May 23rd the modular building segments will start to be installed at the MSA project site. Large hauling equipment will be used in this operation and be on campus drive periodically. Full safety measures will be exercised for this operation. Please proceed with caution. 
  • Work in and around manholes throughout campus will be ongoing for the data relocation portion of the library demolition project. Full safety measures will be exercised for this operation. Please proceed with caution. 
  • Work in future IDF data room on the lower level of the LADM is ongoing. Work with extreme noise levels will be coordinated with CHC campus operations in an effort to minimize disruption.
